Farmingbury Women’s Club

Hello and welcome to the wonderful month of March.  Seasons are beginning to change and we are looking forward to the spring season.

Our ladies have been very busy with so many special projects.  I hope you had an opportunity to view the picture of our ladies in the Community News, as they were in the process of making pillows for breast cancer patients.   Members and a guest of the Farmingbury Women’s Club Busy Bees,  stuffed, tagged, and bagged their homemade  pillows, made with love, to deliver to four cancer centers in  Connecticut.   Leever Center requested 250 breast cancer comfort pillows for their special project, which the Busy Bees gladly filled.  The group also delivered 90 comfort pillows and 90 port pillows to three other cancer centers.   The Busy Bees look forward to their monthly meetings, during which they work diligently to provide this important service to local cancer centers.  While they work, they share stories, laugh frequently, and enjoy each other’s company.  They meet on the third Monday of the month at the Wolcott Library.   You can always contact any Farmingbury Women’s Club member for more information.

Along with the Busy Bees, our ladies also continue to be busy with  Carleen VanBlarcom and her Committee seeking applicants for Scholarships.  Two $1000.00 scholarships will be given.

So many exciting events continue such as the Bowling Banquet which will be held on March 23, our Farmingbury ladies once again will help out.  Chris Culver and Sharon Frigon and some of our members will be volunteering for this event.

We also will be donating a bicycle to a lucky winner at the Easter Egg Hunt.  Eleanor Remirez is in charge of this project.

We look forward to the election of our new Officers for the 2024/2025 year.

Farmingbury Women’s Club is a Service Community Club.  If you are interested in joining us, please reach out to Karen Mowad, Membership Chairperson.

Let me take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy St. Patrick’s day.  Don’t forget to wear your green, enjoy this festival day and we hope you will spend it with your family and friends

And in closing we wish you a very Happy Easter.  May you Easter be filled with joy, happiness  and blessings.  Let us rejoice.  Respectfully submitted,  Mary Kelly, VP
