Happy New Year! We hope you are enjoying the winter greenery decorations at the entrance of the library. Wishing a Happy New Year to all. We look back fondly to the children’s Whoville party in December. The lower level was filled with children and their parents. There was singing and the reading of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Suddenly the Grinch appeared in real life. His heart grew three sizes that day as did the hearts of our guests. Grinch Bingo, Pin the Heart on the Grinch, a holiday craft activity, and special tattoos provided fun for all. Of course there were treats to be enjoyed as well as colorful canvas Grinch bags given as gifts at the end of the event.
The Friends are now ready to plan our Spring Craft Fair on April 4. Interested vendors can reserve tables for $30. Contact Liz—phone 203-910-5238 or mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
A note about museum passes: American Clock and Watch Museum in Bristol is available but check the visiting hours which are shortened in the winter. We have dropped Everwonder in Newtown and White Memorial due to lack of use.
You can see that the Friends offer many activities for all ages. We cannot do it alone. We need volunteers. In January, people often make New Year’s resolutions. Please consider volunteering for even one event. Wonderful teens helped to make our Grinch activity a success and we are grateful to them. Can YOU give us a few hours of your time? We truly cannot achieve our goals without more help from the community.
