Veteran’s Vigil and Luminary Ceremony

Veteran’s Vigil and Luminary Ceremony to honor all Veterans On Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 5pm a Veteran, Vigil & Luminary Ceremony will be held on the Wolcott Town Green to honor all Veterans, especially those so close to home in our Wolcott Community. The event will serve to promote the “GREEN LIGHT A VET” Advocacy Campaign and encourage individuals to keep a green light lit year round at home and/or at the office. The ceremony will include special presentations by DSW Post 1979 Color Guard, ENCORE SINGERS; Mayor Thomas Dunn; Senator Rob Sampson; and State Rep. GaleMastrofrancesco. We will salute our Servicemen and Servicewomen who continue to fight for our freedoms and to keep us safe. Luminaries will mark this special occasion and may be purchased and personalized to light up the Wolcott Town Green along with the Town Hall that evening. This year’s goal will be to light (800) eight hundred luminaries! Luminary honorees and their supporters will be read aloud during the ceremony. We pledge our continued support and respect for the brave men and women, along with their families, who have sacrificed so much. Portioned proceeds from the event will benefit organizations close to home: The Wolcott VFW Post 1979, The American Legion Post 1965 and The Patriots’ Day Initiative.
